We are offering an exciting opportunity in the non-profit sector in Markham, Ontario. We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage full-cycle recruitment and support key HR functions, focusing on sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent while ensuring a seamless candidate and onboarding experience. You will contribute to broader HR functions, including payroll support, and collaborate with the HR team to improve systems and practices.
Responsibilities:
• Lead full-cycle recruitment for a variety of roles, including frontline positions, office staff, and specialized roles
• Apply innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent, especially for hard-to-fill or specialized positions
• Collaborate with supervisors and hiring committees to assess candidates and make informed hiring decisions
• Conduct pre-screens, interviews, and complete candidate scorecards
• Create and present employment contracts to selected candidates
• Conduct thorough background and reference checks, education verifications, and social media screenings
• Support new employees' early-stage integration to ensure a strong cultural and operational fit
• Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
• Assist with ongoing audits and improvements in HR and payroll processes
• Collaborate with supervisors to design tailored onboarding plans for each role and facilitate orientation sessions for new hires
• Contribute to continuous improvements in HR practices and systems
• Assist the HR team with various projects and administrative needs.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Non-Profit sector
• Proficiency in conducting Background Checks
• Experience with Benefit Functions within a non-profit organization
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proven capability in Checking References of potential permanent staff
• Ability to Conduct Reference Checks effectively
• Experience in managing Onboarding processes for new employees
• Skilled in Conducting Interviews and making informed decisions
• Background in Corporate Recruiting, specifically within non-profit organizations
• Experience in Conducting New-Employee Orientations
• Ability to facilitate Orientations for various roles within the organization
• Proficiency in executing New Permanent Staff Orientations
• Familiarity with ADP - Payroll system
• Proficiency in using Bamboo HR software.
