Candidates for this role must have strong knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) and database management software and best practices. Marketing automation specialists work with marketing automation and email automation tools and should understand social media marketing. Excellent communication, organizational, project management and critical-thinking skills, as well as a strong attention to detail, are required for this position. Working knowledge of HTML and a bachelor’s degree in marketing or computer science are often preferred.
