Managers of software and applications development lead a team of software and applications developers, IT business analysts, and IT developers in defining detailed business requirements to support strategic goals. They oversee the entire process of developing or enhancing computer software and programs; coordinating resources; and acting as a liaison between the development team and other departments and project stakeholders. They also help to oversee application program design, development and implementation, and they build relationships with vendors and external teams.
