    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced IS Technical Specialist III to support application development and service-oriented architecture (SOA) projects. This is a temporary role requiring a seasoned IT professional with a minimum of seven years of expertise in IBM Mainframe COBOL/DB2/CICS development and web services integration. You will play a key role in researching, designing, developing, and supporting application systems while contributing to projects that emphasize modernization, scalability, and security.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Research, design, develop, integrate, and support SOA-based application systems.
    • Create technical solutions based on functional requirements for financial service lines utilizing IBM Mainframe technologies.
    • Analyze, design, and develop integration layers for SOA stacks using WebSphere.
    • Conduct unit testing, support production environments, and resolve technical issues effectively.
    • Prepare detailed designs for SOAP to REST migration of COBOL/Mainframe/Web Services/MQ code.
    • Support maintenance projects and implement bug fixes to improve application performance.
    • Collaborate on initiatives involving multi-platform environments and APIs, including distributed technologies such as IBM DataPower, WESB, and IIB.


    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 7 years of professional IT experience, including:
    • At least 1 year of experience working with web services (REST/SOAP) and SOA.
    • Strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and QMF.
    • Hands-on experience with DB2 Native Stored Procedures, CICS Batch, and microservices development using Java (Spring Framework/Spring Boot).
    • Proficiency with tools such as Abend-Aid, FileAid, Changman, Xpeditor, BMC products, and ZOSConnect.
    • Familiarity with SOAP to REST migration and integration projects.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Background in the financial services or banking industry.
    • Experience working with distributed technologies, such as IBM DataPower, WESB, and IIB, is highly desirable.
