We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in the machinery manufacturing industry located in Denton, Texas. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of servers and applications, including implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and diagnosis.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications.
• Maintain precise records of customer credit.
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions.
• Ensure the efficient operation of servers and applications.
• Implement and maintain server hardware and software.
• Administer Test, Certification, and Production IIS and SQL environments.
• Collaborate with in-house development and external vendors for successful application deployment.
• Perform backup and restore operations of various systems, including VMWare guest file systems, windows file shares, SharePoint web and database content, SQL Server database and transaction logs, and IIS web content.
• Assist customers with hardware and software issues.
• Monitor system performance metrics and contribute to capacity planning to meet application SLAs.
• Research and propose new hardware and software.
• Evaluate, justify, and implement tools and techniques designed to automate work activities.
• Ensure compliance with asset management, software license management, data security, and Sarbanes – Oxley audit requirements.
• Lead assigned technical projects.
• Respond promptly to after-hours/weekend calls from the help desk or onsite IT staff.
• Resolve incident reports and service requests according to documented service level agreements.
• Proficient in SQL Database management and operations
• Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Demonstrated expertise in Database Tuning
• Skilled in Performance Tuning of databases
• Knowledge in SQL Tuning to optimize database performance
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server administration
• Experience with VMware virtualization software
