We are seeking a Systems Engineer for a long term contractual role based in Newark, New Jersey. As a Systems Engineer in the higher education industry, you will be primarily focusing on Linux server systems administration, AWS cloud infrastructure, and configuration management.
Responsibilities:
• Administer Linux server systems with a focus on RedHat Enterprise Linux.
• Manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2 deployment, S3, and other relevant platforms.
• Handle configuration management tasks using Ansible.
• Utilize various technologies such as Cisco, Citrix, Cloud, DELL EMC, Dell, and AWS.
• Apply knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Backup Technologies in day-to-day tasks.
• Engage with team members and communicate effectively to solve problems.
• Manage time effectively and empathize with customer needs.
• Leverage skills in AB testing and Active Directory for system optimization.
• Use tools like Splunk, VMware vSphere, Git, and NetApp, when necessary.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Cisco Technologies
• Strong knowledge of Citrix Technologies
• Familiarity with Cloud Technologies and their application in the higher education sector
• Experience with DELL EMC and Dell Technologies
• Ability to conduct AB Testing effectively
• Demonstrated experience with Active Directory
• Strong skills in Automation processes
• Proficiency in AWS Technologies
• Competence in Backup Technologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows
• Prior experience in the Higher Education sector is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
