    Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney to join our law firm, which specializes in representing school districts, municipalities and other governmental entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education/municipal law, with experience in labor/employment issues, constitutional law issues, and/or litigation. This role involves providing comprehensive legal counsel, litigation support, and strategic advice to school districts on a variety of issues related to teacher employment.

    Responsibilities

    -Represent school districts in disputes involving labor/employment, including disciplinary actions, grievances, dismissals, and contract disputes.

    -Provide legal advice on compliance with state and federal education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Title IX, and labor and employment regulations.

    -Advocate for clients in administrative hearings, courts of common pleas and Pennsylvania’s appellate courts. 

    -Represent school and municipal clients at public meetings.

    -Prepare and review legal briefs, pleadings, and other documents related to any school law and/or municipal issues. 

    -Assist school districts in all other legal matters.  

    -Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

    -Active membership in the Allegheny County Bar Association. 

    -3+ years of experience in education law, employment law, or related legal practice.

    -Strong litigation skills, including legal research, drafting, and courtroom advocacy.

    -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build client trust and manage sensitive issues tactfully.

    -Knowledge of federal and state laws governing education and employment, particularly as they pertain to school districts and/or municipal governing bodies.

    Skills

    -Experience representing public entities or school districts.

    -Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations.

    -Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
