    This role will be remote with as needed client site travel required throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.


    Consulting Engineer on our Delivering Team is responsible for working with our customers to design, document, and implement robust technical solutions. This position requires a blend of technical competence, teamwork, and customer service skills to successfully run a Post-Sale Professional Services engagement from project assignment to project closure. The Consulting Engineer leverages Technical Lead team members, Project Management Office, Managed Services team, and industry-leading technologies to implement optimal solutions and deliver value to our customers.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Acts as a technical implementation lead for an assigned project and works closely with the project manager and customer to complete project tasks.

    • Generates and implements network configurations, follows the project test plan, and completes project documentation for the assigned networking projects.

    • Ensures smooth transition of documentation to the Managed Services team as required.

    • Performs analysis and diagnosis of networking problems.

    • Provide third-level technical support for routing, switching, security, and wireless technologies to customers.

    • Effectively utilizes moderate lab setups to recreate and solve problems.

    • Uses knowledge of technology, products, and services to build enterprise networking solutions. 

    • Invests time in continued education to learn new networking/security technologies and keeps certifications current.

    • May assist the pre-sales team occasionally.

    The successful Consulting Engineer / Network Engineer will have:


    • Cisco networking industry experience and knowledge of products and protocols.

    • Experience with Cisco/Viptela SDWAN, and other vendor SDWAN technologies.

    • Familiarity/knowledge of DNA Center/SD-Access is highly desired.

    • CCNP-R& S is a must, CCIE-R& S is highly desired, OR a combo of certifications and work experience.

    • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills with Routing/Switching/Wireless across Cisco platforms are highly desired.

    • Experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, and Cisco NX-OS is required.

    • Advanced understanding of Network Security and experience with Cisco firewalls desired.

    • Knowledge of/experience with Cisco Meraki (Hardware, Dashboard, etc.).

    • Knowledge of Wireshark or similar network capture tools and their use to diagnose IP-related issues.

    • Knowledge of Network Management Systems (Cisco PI, Solarwinds, etc.).

    • Good verbal communication skills, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.

    • Experience with performing wireless surveys is desirable.


    Travel may be required for this position.

    Travel predominantly throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, local candidates preferred.

    Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
