This position is one that truly touches all facets of the business. You will have direct interaction with founder and President of the Company, will interface with construction, purchasing, sales and administrative staff members. There is a staff of 3 reporting in to this role, Office Manager, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. <br><br>This position is responsible for the full accounting functions including: Maintaining the books and records of the Company to include; Cash Management and Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Financial Statements, Budgeting, Forecasting; and year-end interface with tax preparers and auditors. This position is best suited for a proactive, hands-on manager who is willing to perform tasks as well as supervise and mentor.<br>Duties and Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to)<br>• Managing and maintaining the Company’s accounting function, practicing sound accounting policies, and ensuring proper safeguards<br>• Maintain corporate records for Aspen Earthworks and related entities. <br>• Responsible for all postings and transactions in the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers, including journal entries, correcting transactions, reconciling monthly WIP and bank accounts<br>• Supervising A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger entry, and analytical responsibilities.<br>• Create and maintain budgets within the accounting system with ability to analyze variances.<br>• Practice sound cash management with ability to project cash position<br>• Perform monthly/annual financial closings and financial reporting, GL reconciliations, cash management, and ad hoc project reporting. Ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports <br>• Manage intracompany and intercompany accounts and member/manager entities. <br>• Preparing year-end financials, fixed asset schedules, as well as other schedules by end of January in order to deliver to external CPA’s preparing tax returns.<br>• With proper knowledge, interact with the President and outside CPA’s on various tax planning strategies.<br>• Ultimately responsible for issuance of 1099s, and preparation of franchise as well as property taxes <br>• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow<br>• Oversees and supports the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity<br>Qualifications:<br>• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, and a CPA is preferred.<br>• Minimum of 7 Years of experience in accounting with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. <br>• Project / Cost accounting experience is preferred.<br>• Tax planning experience is a plus but not a requirement.<br>This is a growing company with a great culture, energized leadership team and staff and a strong path for continued growth. Analytical skills and the ability to make confident decisions are also required. Basic knowledge of procedures and principles and typing skill are a must.
